My May Vacation

Hello everyone. Its been a tough time having this post again. My life has been out of the world of internet recently since my Celcom broadband was wholly owned by my friend. Now, I'm at college which allow me to get in touch with internet streaming for free. Here is what I've done last month, highlighted the things that related to 'beach'. First was at Nexus Karambunai Resort. Me and 9 other friends rent a villa (Normal Price: RM1200+/nite) specially to celebrate Labour's Day. Second was at Pantai Kelambu Kudat which is next to Kudat Riviera super-luxury-tourism villa. You may find many information about it in the net but let me announce that this villa is not open for public since there are many things that needed to be settled.

The KDP 14M OUM-PJJ Student, Tawau

KDP stands for Kursus Dalam Perkhidmatan (Course in Service). I'm not sure if I translated it right, at least it heard similar. Course in service or KDP means you attend course (mostly with a long peroid of time) while you are in service with the government. This course doesn't affect you salary. Its paid even you are not working at that whole time. PJJ stands for Pengajian Jarak Jauh or Distance Learning. Anyone who involve with distance learning are mostly working in private or government sectors. Im one of the citizen who works for the government and work for myself to get degree in the future. I choose to study at OUM (Open University of Malaysia) because it is the first virtual univeristy that you can attend and very suitable for working person. OUM provide an Open Market course to those who want to afford their own scholarship fees and the second is specially for the government servant, in other words, the scholarship is sponsored by the government. In my case, my scholarship is sponsored by Ministry of Education.

Our learning center is at IPGM Tawau, Sabah. It is wonderful place to study. Most of the building is new, the lanscape is wonderful and accomodation is most likely satisfying. My very favourite is the gym. It offers a fitness gym and three badminton courts that we can spent most of our evening hitting the shuttlecock. It just that I don't have any moment there captured in my digital imaging equipment. As for the bad side, IPGM Kampus Tawau offers a limited parking space, a distant hostel and lecture rooms, unstable water supply and too much rules and restrictions. I don't think I have to elaborate them as I think for those who spent half decade of their life there will surely comprehend. Therefore, my deeply apologize goes to whom it may concern or offended. This isn't a politic or criticsm but merely just a statement from my humble opinion (Thank you for reading). This is some of my pictures there.

The Tip Of Borneo, Kudat, Sabah.

Date : 28 May 2008
Venue : The Tip Of Borneo, Kudat

The Tip Of Borneo is also known as Simpang Mengayau in local language. Simpang is junction. Meanwhile ‘mengayau’ is from a Rungus Tirbe’s language, ‘mangazou’ means war. Therefore, Simpang Mengayau is most likely a place of war. It was named that way because Sempang Mengayau was used by the Rungus people to guard their territory from pirates attack in 18th and 19th century.

Geographically, Simpang Mengayau also known as The Tip of Borneo because of it location is merely at the end of the Kudat’s tip. Some people may call it di hujung dunia (at the end of the world).

This place is located approximately 40km away from Kudat. If we refer to history, Ferdinand Magellan (a legendary sailor) had landed here in Sempang Mengayau to fix his boat. At the same time, he gather foods and water from the local people before continues his journey.

I have to admit that Simpang Mengayau is beautiful place to hang around. This image shows a slippery rock at the very end of the tip. Down there, you can feel the vibration of the wave and wind crashing your body.. cool!

Beringgis Beach Resort, Papar

Date : 12 – 16 May 2008
Venue: Beringgis Beach Resort, Papar.

This is my 4th visit in this district- Papar. First was at Borneo Paradise, Kinarut Papar for a camping. Second was at Membakut Eco Lake Training Center and the third visit was at Papar Firefighter Quarters to my friends’ sister.

Beringgis Beach Resort is serenely situated on a stretch of soft sandy beach that faces the wide expanses of the South China Sea. It has few of blocks of rooms (Mawar Superior, Mawar Deluxe, Dinawan Deluxe guestroom, Mawar Duplex and Chalet), WiFi ready in the lobby, Cabana Café for to enjoy cocktail, karaoke and sunsets. It also has main café known as Hornbill Café at the left wings of the lobby, it has at least 2 halls (for bouquet, ceremony, seminar, course), an multi use field especially as a volleyball court, a pool and the most precious is the beach itself!

For the whole time I’ve been there, I never have enough time to explore all these. Not because I don’t have sufficient time to spent but because of laziness and weather condition fabricated as one BIG problem. Hehe… at last, I manage to take my revenge back! On 11.30 p.m. in my last day (16 May), my uncle who comes along all the way from KK took me for a drink. I have no idea where we were that night but I’m sure it was after 2 a.m when I was in my room. Drunk!

I also have this sweet memory when I spread the ‘jadikah?’ disease. It is a simple statement from ‘Jadikah, perlukah saya jelaskan?’ (so, should I explain?). I make use it as a simple sentence to kill any futher questions (when I think it is not relevant or appropriate). This sentence is so contagious that made my friends laughing. Sometimes they use it to make fun with me too.. (I am so done! Kotoh!) hehe..

These are the picture. Enjoy!

Work in the holiday

'Called to duty while having sex' is the similarities with today's topic. I was coloring my hair in a saloon.. I mean.. hair lighting to be more precise when a phone call reach me. I was shock at the moment because I already bleach some of my hair and yet have to attend course in KWSP Building in Kota Kinabalu. My first thought was 'how am I going to cover my hair light?'. There is no reverse way to do it unless I colored my hair with black. But its useless and wasting my money. I already paid RM28 for my new look! Ah.. Dog damn it! I don't want that fierce old lady to see it because she will be turned mad and probably complaint it in front of others... it is embarrassing! But I made up my mind with this totally all-round-globe fantastic thinking --> WHATEVER! So, I went to the place and attend that course peacefully. I am so relieved when I found out that she was in Ipoh! phewww..
So, this is the KWSP Building. Very beautiful with its glass windows. I also captured he view of Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (Tax Council of Malaysia) from the 5th floor of the KWSP building.

Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri

I'm having a very important job there (from 10 -11 December) because it has something to do with all the youngsters of Sabah aged 12 in 2008. Mind if I tell you this is secret? Yup.. my friends already know. On my way back to hotel, I saw this appealing car on the car parking lot. The rim was spectacular and sporty. Check it!

Deepavali at Teringai Beach

First of all, I would like to say Happy Deepavali Day to all Malaysian who celebrate it. I personally don't have any close friend who celebrate this festival. But I know someone... Jaclyn Victor! hehe

During this holiday, me and some gangs went to the beach called Teringai. My friend Kamla who was invited me went with his friend Nafi and his students. Grace and Tracey are going to ride with me and they were very excited. Grace doesn't have any problem to prepare especially with the junk food, crackers, snacks and drinks that I asked her to get but for Tracey, she is going to have a little 'prepartion' because her no.8 Garnier grade skin need to be protected from UV for she will have her wedding day on 18 November. Nah.. too bad kan if got stripes or double tone skin especially when she wear sleeveless wedding dress.. hehe.. she can't have it, is she? Therefore, she brought a sweater with fair 'n' lovely whitening cream for her face.Wedding issue~~..must beautiful.. once in a lifetime dude.. hehe

Teringai Beach is located about 60km++ away from my house. The road was very dusty and rocky.. its 8 - 10km away from the main road plus with the palm oil tree at the both side of the way. Just imagine it when your car doesn't have air conditioner! Ah..it will totally change our hair color! To maintain our original hair color, we overtake all the cars and lorry ahead us.. who wants to eat dust, are we? And here we go again with the pictures.

Here are four of us.. the 5th person was the one who snaps this picture. Look at the girl with sunglass.. Garnie no.8 oh~!!

Me supervising the 'turtle' project! hoho...

Am listening to iPOD Shuffle 1st Gen.. with sunglass!

So many people and still feel lonely? Thats reality!

This is among the beautiful scenery captured on canon 7.1 mega pixel camera.. here in Teringai Beach, Kota Marudu.

Minal aidil wal-faizin

First of all, I would like to greet all Malaysian Happy Ramadan Al-Mubarak especially to those Muslim who struggle hard for their one month fast. Minal aidil wal-faizin (I don’t know if I typed it correctly; hopefully I was). I have two friends from Arab and I regret I don’t know how to greet them Selamat Hari Raya in right terms. I did wish them Happy Hari Raya Aidilfitri and luckily they recognize the word ‘aidil’ and they said .. ‘Ramadan Al-Mubarak?” then I said.. “yes”. OMG that is so hilarious thing I ever experienced because I never pay attention about this till now! I only know how to eat cookies…duh! And to get rid of it, I contacted my friend (Ustaz) and here what I’ve got. Solved!

Kullum am waantum bikhair.. taqqaballahuminna waminkum minnal a’mulussalihaat… Happy eidul mubarak.

Talking about Hari Raya celebration, we usually go to my aunt house each year. Last year, me and some friends went to celebrate hari raya with one of the makcik we knew. And we have good time together. Here are the pictures.

Membakut Lake Eco Training Center. June 19-21, 2007.

This year has been wonderful to me. Instead of having fun in Miri, Sarawak and Labuan, now I have the chance to stay at Membakut Lake Eco Training Centre. We were told that the name of the place should be Membakut River Eco Resort Centre (in the invitation letter). It confusing at first but I have no time to think about it better than my preparation. How to get there? What should I bring? Condom? Whatever..

A capacity of four passengers in a Silver Toyota Hilux which is now only three with one seat is taken by our luggage travelling from our home town to Papar. Its been a long and rainy journey to get us here. Now, we have a reason to believe that it is Membakut Lake Eco Training Centre. The sign board! Back to our first question in head which is correct either Membakut River bla bla or Membakut Lake bla bla.. The answer seems easy when diagnosed from its geography. Before the training centre, there is a river. If we heading further passing the training centre, there will be a lake. So both name is make sense now. But when come to pick between resort and training centre?? The usage of ‘training centre’ is most suitable answer just like they care (too!).

Membakut Lake Eco Training Centre is situated about 12 KM from Pekan Membakut and 5KM away from the main road. It covers about 3 – 5 acre flat land in the middle of oil palm estate. Its building was 95% stranded by wood. The floor was risen almost a meter from ground level to avoid sink when there is flood. Everything I said is based on my wild estimation because I don’t have any source but my memory. There is no brochure or any articles regarding it even in their district’s website.

Staying there about 4 days and 3 nights was most likely living in the sardine can. The air conditioner in our room and in the course room was unable to supply the right temperature. The river level also risen to flood and put the place in siege. The rainy days made the place wet and muddy. So, when come to this question; what are you doing there? What happened? Hmm..it is a training center. As we come out from there, we become trainer lah!..haha..Actually, I happened to be a presenter in my group and accidentally, I become one of the four top presenters from other group. The following night, I won the 4th place in chess competition and it is unplanned too. Wauuuuu!

This picture is taken in front of the Membakut Lake Eco Training Center while our Hilux was still trapped in the mud… and this Kancil?? It is an accessories for this picture!

My Visit to Labuan. May 28, 2007

I have a classmate from Labuan. Since then, it sparkle my interest to visit there. I was so busy lately and have no time to plan my vacation until one day I have contact with my old friend. She told me that she was in KK and willing to escort me. Sunday 27, 4.00 pm, we left the KK harbor heading to Labuan. I really have fun traveling with ferry for the first time.. I mean, first time ferry and Labuan. Cool isn’t it?!
From afar, I can see the huge building from the seaside. I was told that it was the financial building. It also known as U.K (Ujana Kewangan). My watch shows us its already 6 o’clock. I and my friend Alfred really need to hurry to so that we can have our refreshment a.s.a.p. Pity for us because there most of the hotel were full house. Beside, today is Sunday! Of course there are lots of visitors in weekends. With some help from my ex-classmate, we finally got a room in Classic Hotel that is located at the very end of the building line, adjacent to market! Yeww… it is sucks but we don’t have any option either.
The long journey was tiring and we overslept till 9.00 a.m in the next day (Monday). The ray of sun already filled the atmosphere. I know this is perfect sign to get rock! My friend Chai Yan waiting patiently downstairs with her maroon Vios! Wow, I cant pretend that I am not jealous with it haha.. . So, we went to take our breakfast with a clay pot noodle. After then we went to War Memorial Park, Chimney, Bird Park, Marine Center, Labuan Museum and at last was UK!
I really have a wonderful experience visiting Labuan and I hope that I can do it again someday. In other word, I wish to travel somewhere so that I can forget my problems that haunting me. Broken heart can be filled with traveling too right?

This is my picture in Museum of Marine Biology.

This is The Labuan War Cemetery and Memorial. The remains of 3,908 soldiers of Australian, British, some Punjab Signal Corp, New Zealand and as well as a few local was interred at this cemetery. Every first Sunday of November, a service to mark Remembrance Day is held here. It is also visited regularly by War Veteran Group especially from Australia and they have included Labuan as an important destination on their battle –field tours circuit.

The ‘Chimney’ – An Archeological Mystery stand at 106 feet high and made from more than 23, 000 pieces of red bricks imported from England. It is believed to be linked to the coal mining days of Labuan. The ‘Chimney’ is still very much a mystery until today. Various hypothesis has been put forward to its purpose. Some said it was an unfinished mansion. While others said it was a light house beaconing passing ships. In its heyday, a thriving settlement was built at the sea front area below the Chimney. It was then used as a bell tower to announce the arrival of ships to the residents below. It has become an intriguing riddle that fascinates locals and visitors alike.

This is one of my picture in The Labuan Birds Park. I have to find shade place so that no birds droppings in my head while taking this piture.

This is one of the interesting mummied-bird in Labuan Birds Park. IT is Starring at you!
